Why owner-drivers use FreightShield

Built for Owner-Drivers

Built for Australian owner-operators, not large fleets or employers.

Pay Discrepancy Checks

Compare pay, rates, fuel levy and deductions before small shortfalls become expensive.

Secure Document Vault

Encrypted storage for payslips, PODs, contracts and rate confirmations — yours alone, always.

Compliance Reminders

Keep work diary, fatigue and Chain of Responsibility obligations visible.

Escalation Pathway

Turn documents into organised evidence when a pay issue needs to move forward.

The pressure points that cost drivers money.

Pay Shortfalls

Detention time, fuel levy errors, deductions and late payments can quietly eat into money you already earned.

Paperwork Gaps

Missing PODs, invoices, terms and communication records make even valid claims harder to prove.

Contract & Compliance Pressure

Rate schedules, company terms, work diaries and Chain of Responsibility obligations are difficult to manage alone.

One road. One convoy.

Every owner-driver has a stretch of road nobody else sees: the waiting, the paperwork, the pay that does not add up. FreightShield is the convoy behind you, from the long-haul semis to the vans and utes.

Even on a good week

Pay looks right?
Look closer.

Some weeks there is nothing wrong. Then, a week or two later, you notice you are down $50 to $100. Or a few hundred over the month. Maybe you are not claiming everything you should be receiving.

Once you start logging your work, your tolls, your wait times and your customer calls, the gaps show up. FreightShield keeps the record, so you can see what you are owed and why.

We have been there too. Our team has worked as radio operators and in freight, so we know what drivers can claim, what they should be paid for and what is owed.

We are not here to cause trouble. We are here to get drivers the money they are entitled to: as per contract, as per job, as per pay.

We are your payday compliance agent.
Because we used to be you.

Make driving a job you enjoy. Better days lead to better performance, more work and fewer carrier disputes. Focus on your day. Leave the paperwork with us.

FreightShield is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The amounts shown are examples only. What you may be owed depends on your contract, your jobs and your records. No outcome is guaranteed.

Where missed money hides

Small things that are easy to miss on a busy week.

  • Your work logHours, extra runs and changes to the job that never reach the pay advice.
  • TollsTolls you paid that your contract says are reimbursed.
  • Wait timesTime stuck at a dock or a depot that may count as detention.
  • Customer calls and changesRedirects, reruns and extra drops agreed on the phone.
  • Fuel levyApplied correctly, at the rate your contract says.

Recover

Use the organised evidence to pursue the next step with confidence.

Log it once. It works twice.

Every toll, every hour, every run you log in FreightShield is captured with a date and kept in your vault. You are already doing this paperwork — FreightShield just makes sure it is recorded properly and does not go missing.

When your pay looks wrong

A shortfall is only provable when you can show what you actually did. Your own logged runs, hours and tolls are the evidence.

When it is time to do your tax

Your travel and toll use is already documented, dated and stored — so the records are there when your accountant asks for them.

Carriers routinely tell drivers to keep their own toll records — and then leave them to it. Most of that ends up as a glovebox full of faded receipts, or nothing at all. FreightShield keeps it as a proper dated record of the routes you ran, for as long as you need it.

FreightShield keeps your records. It does not prepare tax returns or provide tax advice — what you can claim is a matter for you and your registered tax agent.

Don't let carriers keep the money you earned.

One package. One price. Everything included — because working out which tier covers you is the last thing you need when your pay is short. No lock-in contracts. Cancel any time.

As per contract.
As per job.
As per pay.

That is the standard. FreightShield checks your pay and helps you get what you are owed.

Start Pay Check

Pay checking, evidence and dispute support for transport subcontractors.

FreightShield is built for Australian owner-drivers who need a practical way to review pay advices, compare job records, organise PODs and invoices, and prepare a clear evidence pack before a payment issue becomes a bigger dispute.

Owner-driver pay checker

Review pay advices, fuel levy inputs, deductions, detention time and contract terms in one place so potential shortfalls are easier to identify and explain.

Transport payment dispute evidence

Keep PODs, invoices, rate confirmations, work diaries, GPS notes and communication records organised into a clean case file for escalation.

Phase 2 carrier escalation

Every DriverProtect member gets the full escalation procedure: a formal, facts-only submission to the carrier, a 14-day request to respond, and tracked follow-up recorded on the case file.

Road transport compliance reminders

Keep important owner-driver paperwork and compliance reminders visible, including documents connected to freight jobs, payment records and dispute evidence.

Stand together. Stand with FreightShield.

Built by people who have been in the cab and on the radio. When one driver is short-paid it matters to every driver, so we stand with you.

FreightShield was built by people who used to drive.

"Owner-drivers are the backbone of Australian freight. They deserve the same access to information, evidence and expert support that large companies take for granted."

FreightShield was built for owner-drivers who need clearer pay checks, cleaner evidence and a stronger escalation path when something does not add up.

We are not a government regulator or a union. We are a driver-first support platform focused on practical tools, organised documents and clear next steps.

Common questions

Yes. FreightShield is built specifically for Australian owner-drivers and subcontractors who need pay checking, document storage, compliance reminders and dispute support in one place.
No. FreightShield is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. What it does is help you understand your position, organise your evidence and put a documented pay discrepancy in front of your carrier.

If the matter stays unresolved, you keep every right to take it further — and you take it further with an organised evidence pack in hand, rather than starting from a shoebox of receipts.
FreightShield cannot guarantee outcomes. It helps you identify the issue, organise the evidence and choose the right escalation path. Outcomes depend on the facts, documents and merits of each case.
Your carrier is asked to review and respond within 14 days. If nothing comes back, FreightShield sends a documented follow-up and records the silence on your case file.

That record is the point. However it ends — paid, disputed or ignored — you finish with a dated, organised pack showing the shortfall, exactly what was sent, and exactly what your carrier did or did not do. Going it alone later means paying someone by the hour to reconstruct all of that from memory. This way it already exists.

Where it goes next is entirely your call. Nothing escalates without your say-so, and no outcome is guaranteed.
Pay advices, invoices, rate confirmations, proof of delivery (PODs), carrier contracts, company terms, work diaries, GPS logs, communication records — anything relevant to your pay or compliance situation. FreightShield accepts PDF, image files and common document formats.
FreightShield is designed to keep driver documents private and controlled by authorised users. Final production security, hosting and privacy controls should be reviewed before relying on detailed compliance claims.
Everything, for one price. There are no tiers and nothing held back behind an upgrade.

The FreightShield DriverProtect Package — A$29.99/mo includes the member dashboard, payslip and pay advice checking, shortfall detection and alerts, the secure document vault, the daily work log and weekly log book, deep-dive pay and contract review, your evidence report, the Phase 2 carrier escalation procedure with tracked 14-day follow-up, compliance reminders, member resources and priority support.
